January 13th and its 75 degrees out. Road Trip. One of my buddies e-mail and asked us if we wanted to go sailing. Texas A&M sailing club maintains several boats on Lake Conroe. It is our duty as former Aggies to ensure they are safe by sailing them as often as possible.
Conroe is less than an hour a way so we got up early and headed out. The first big winter storm was on the way later in the day so we decided to get some experience is squally weather.
This was a great day. It started out nice and calm. We sailed around the morning and headed over to the dinner for lunch. A few cold ones and one half of a huge sandwich later and we headed back out.
If you look in the back ground you can see the storm of the year making her way toward us. We were never in any real danger but it sure was fun. We put her away and drove back to College Station. When we left the marina the temp was 75 Degrees. Pulling into our drive way the temp had dropped to a balmy 35.
It was horrible. The next 3 days were an absolute hell. There was this white stuff falling from the sky and this clear hard slippery coating formed over everything. Damn you global warming, damn you.
It is amazing what absolute idiots people turn into when snow and ice fall from the sky. The town was shut down. Banks and government offices closed. Old people were driving in the passing lane going 30 mph.

We have the hardly waits. We have decided to actually start looking after tax season for a boat. Hopefully, cross your fingers, we will have our property sold by then.
It's a pitiful sight to behold, watching someone who has the hardly waits. Every day it's the same thing. Get up early and read some logs. See the "people we stalk" section. (Living vicariously through other peoples adventures sucks.) then I search Yachtworld.com for the perfect boat. Which I have found about 5 times, but since we are not ready, let go.
Then off to work. I love my job but I really need (want) a hole in the water to shovel money into.
