After 4 months of sitting out we needed to get back on the water. So we chartered a boat. Weekend at the beach, day sail, what could be better. Then we found out Jennifer's brother Eric and his kids were going to be at the beach house. Then we found out Grandpa will be there as well. What is the first thing new sailors do. They invite friends and family to share in their delusion. If your going to die who better to die with than family. Knowing that we are slow and stupid, The Corpus Christi Yacht Center asked us to take an experienced captain with us to oversee our folly, and assigned us the Linda Lee. You remember the Linda Lee? This is still pre-refit. I guess they figured if we sank they wouldn't have to continue to pay slip fees.

The unwary sole who we were dumped upon was Capt. Chris. We'll hear more about Capt. Chris later. Single handedly Capt Chris kept us from killing ourselves. He was patient and helpful and, helped us show off our vast sailing knowledge to the family.
We left port in the best of weather. 80 Degrees with slight winds, about 6-8 knots, that gently pushed us out. If you follow our course below, surprisingly it looks a lot like where we went for 101. Why do you think that is.
This is our day sail trip.

Jennifer had this grin the entire time. She is hooked. |
We decided to cut the day short. If you notice the horizon. We sailed back in in 35-40 knot winds. It was a lot of fun but kinda scary.
